When you are taking preparation for the BPSC TRE PGT Chemistry exam, you will be dealing with a paper worth 80 marks which is at the level of a graduate's education—covering Physical, Organic, and Inorganic Chemistry, a depth that one would normally expect in a teaching examination for Classes 11 and 12.

When you are preparing for the BPSC CCE Prelims, the Chemistry portion consists of between 8 and 10 questions which are included in the 30-mark General Science section and is examined at a simple, practical level—covering acids, bases, and everyday chemistry—and does not include anything similar to the depth needed at the undergraduate level.

People who mix up the two end up spending their valuable preparation time for nothing. If someone preparing for CCE reads about organic reaction mechanisms at the PGT level, they will be studying at the wrong level of difficulty. A candidate who is aiming for PGT and depends solely on basic General Science content will be unprepared when sitting the 80-mark paper.

The series has been constructed on the basis of that specific division. The PGT/TRE Chemistry and the CCE Prelims Chemistry are kept as two entirely separate streams, each corresponding to the real exam pattern and including the negative marking rules, so that you only practise the material actually needed for the exam.

A large part of the series is still free. The fact that one branch of Chemistry — or one of the exam routes — takes up more of your time should not mean that you have to pay for it before you have even started.
