Physics is generally regarded as the most difficult subject for Bihar Board Class 12 Science students. It involves conceptual definitions, mathematical derivations, ray diagrams, and numerical calculations.

A good performance in Physics can push your overall marks above 300, enabling you to secure a First Division. On the other hand, a poor score can drag down your entire rank, even if your marks in Chemistry and Hindi are high.

The Bihar Board Class 12 Physics paper provides students with a notable advantage: the ability to choose their questions. In Section A, the board offers 70 objective multiple-choice questions and you are only required to answer 35 of them on your OMR sheet.

This setup enables you to avoid difficult numerical problems and instead concentrate on straightforward questions regarding laws, SI units, and basic devices.

However, with 70 questions available, there is a significant challenge — the speed of question selection. Many students spend 40 minutes going through the entire paper, hesitate, second-guess their answers, and end up having to rush to fill in their OMR bubbles at the last minute.

Rushing results in careless errors. A student may solve question 15 correctly on paper but accidentally mark bubble number 16 on the OMR sheet.

By regularly practicing with our Bihar Board12th Physics mock test 2027, you train your mind to cope with this kind of pressure. You learn to quickly identify easy, direct-formula questions, select the best 35, and complete Section A in under 40 minutes.

Why I Created This Mock Test Series

My name is Shubham Kumar Sah and I am the founder of SarkariMockTest.com.

I have been developing exam preparation content for Bihar students for many years now. Year after year, Physics shows me the same pattern.

Students learn the derivations and understand the theory, yet they still lose marks on one particular point — SI units and dimensional formulas.

The Bihar Board Physics exam includes 70 objective questions, and only the first 35 that you mark on the OMR sheet are counted. It is only when their results are announced that most students fully realise this.

Optics alone carries 14 marks, the highest among all units. It contains a number of formulas — the Lens Maker's Formula, the fringe width in YDSE, Brewster's Law — and students often confuse these under exam pressure.

This series has been designed specifically to address that issue.

The tests are organised unit by unit: Electrostatics, Current Electricity, Magnetism, Optics, Semiconductor Electronics. Each unit has its own set of focused practice questions.

We also provide a full quick-revision table of SI units and dimensional formulas. Most free platforms completely omit this, even though it is worth 6 to 8 marks in direct questions.

Each full test follows the actual OMR rule: 70 questions are given, and only your first 35 marked answers count. This way, you get practice in making smart choices rather than guessing under pressure.

A large portion of this series is available for free. It shouldn't cost you money to know which unit you are weak in before your board exam even begins.

I check all the content on this website against one question: will this actually help a PCM student improve their score before the Bihar Board 2027 Physics results are announced? If the answer is no, then it doesn't get included.

Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme: Theory and Practical

The written theory paper and the internal school practical exam make up the BSEB Class 12 Physics examination (Subject Code 117), the total mark being 100.

Explanation of the 70 vs 35 Objective Rule: Avoid This Important OMR Mistake

The most frequent mistake made by students in the Bihar Board Class 12 Physics exam is not understanding how the optical scanner grades Section A.

Section A of your paper has 70 objective questions numbered from 1 to 70. You are told to answer any 35 of them.

Many students wrongly believe that if they fill in 45 or 50 bubbles, the board will go through all of them and only count the top 35 scores.

This is entirely false.

The automated OMR scanner reads your answer sheet one question after another from top to bottom, starting at question 1. As soon as it has detected 35 marked bubbles, it stops evaluating.

Any bubbles marked after the 35th one are completely disregarded.

Consider this example:

  • A student marks 45 bubbles on their OMR sheet.
  • Among the first 35 marked bubbles, they have 23 correct and 12 incorrect.
  • Questions 36 to 45 are all correct.
  • The optical scanner records a final score of 23 out of 35 and never looks at questions 36 through 45.

That is why it is so valuable to practice on our bseb class 12 physics 70 objective questions model paper test free platform. Our system prevents you from marking a 36th question, thus helping you develop the habit of selecting only your best 35 questions.

What Most Free Online Tests Fail to Provide: Competitor Gap Analysis

There are many websites in Bihar that provide online quizzes for Class 12 Physics, but most of these have significant shortcomings. The table below shows what typical platforms overlook and how our platform offers a complete preparation experience:

15 Common Mistakes Aspirants Make in Bihar Board Class 12th Physics

Avoid these common preparation errors to protect your score:

  • Attempting More Than 35 Objectives: Marking 45 or 50 bubbles on the OMR sheet wastes time. The scanner only evaluates the first 35 bubbles marked from top to bottom.
  • Confusing Units of Inductance and Magnetic Flux: Mixing up Henry (H) for inductance with Weber (Wb) for magnetic flux.
  • Overlooking the Theory Passing Mark: Forgetting that theory and practical components must be passed separately. You must score at least 21 marks in theory, regardless of your practical score.
  • Neglecting the Lens Maker's Formula Sign Convention: Forgetting that for a biconvex lens, R1 is positive and R2 is negative, which leads to incorrect focal length calculations.
  • Forgetting Power of Lens Units: Calculating lens power using focal length in centimeters without converting it to meters (P=100/f in cm).
  • Confusing NAND and NOR Truth Tables: Mixing up the inverted outputs of universal logic gates under identical binary inputs.
  • Rushing OMR Bubbling: Solving questions accurately on paper but accidentally filling the wrong bubble row on the OMR sheet.
  • Neglecting the Negative Sign in Lenz's Law: Writing e = N (dΦ / dt) instead of the correct form: e = −N (dΦ / dt).
  • Studying Without a Stopwatch: Solving practice sets without a timer, which leads to poor time management during the real exam.
  • Skipping Ray Diagrams in Section B: Writing long theoretical explanations for telescopes or microscopes without drawing clean, labeled ray diagrams with arrowheads.
  • Disregarding Semiconductor Energy Gaps: Forgetting the band gap values for Silicon (1.1 eV) and Germanium (0.7 eV).
  • Mixing Up Hydrogen Spectral Series: Forgetting that the Lyman series lies in the Ultraviolet region, the Balmer series lies in the Visible region, and the Paschen series lies in the Infrared region.
  • Neglecting Shunt Resistance Formulas: Mixing up the formulas for converting a galvanometer into an ammeter (shunt in parallel) versus a voltmeter (multiplier in series).
  • Over-Calculating in Section A: Spending 3 minutes on a complicated numerical question when simple, direct formula questions are available.
  • Leaving Blank Bubbles: Since there is zero negative marking, leaving any of your 35 objective choices unattempted is a missed opportunity.

Q Q10. What is the SI unit of magnetic flux?

The SI unit of magnetic flux is the Weber (Wb), which is equivalent to Tesla-meter squared ($T \cdot m^2$) or Volt-second ($V \cdot s$).

Q Q11. What is the SI unit of self-inductance and mutual inductance?

The SI unit of both self-inductance and mutual inductance is the Henry (H), which is equivalent to Weber per Ampere (Wb/A) or Volt-second per Ampere ($V \cdot s / A$).

Q Q12. What is Brewster's Law in Wave Optics?

Brewster's Law states that when light is incident at the polarizing angle ($i_p$), the reflected ray is completely plane polarized and the refractive index of the medium is given by $\mu = \tan i_p$.

Q Q13. What is the value of the power factor in a purely inductive or capacitive AC circuit?

The power factor ($\cos\phi$) in a purely inductive or purely capacitive circuit is zero since the phase angle between voltage and current is $90^\circ$ ($\cos 90^\circ = 0$). This results in wattless current.

At room temperature, the forbidden energy band gap ($E_g$) is approximately 1.1 eV for Silicon and 0.7 eV for Germanium.

Q Q19. What is the working principle of a transformer?

A transformer operates on the principle of mutual electromagnetic induction. An alternating current in the primary coil produces an alternating magnetic flux in the core, which in turn induces a secondary electromotive force (EMF).

Q Q20. Why are NAND and NOR gates called Universal Gates?

They are known as universal gates because by using only NAND gates or only NOR gates repeatedly, it is possible to construct all the basic logic gates: AND, OR, and NOT.

Q Q21. What is the focal length of a plane glass sheet?

The focal length of a plane glass sheet or a plane mirror is infinity ($\infty$), and its optical power is zero ($P = 1/f = 0\text{ D}$).

Q Q22. What happens to the resistance of a semiconductor when its temperature increases?

Unlike metals, the electrical resistance of a semiconductor decreases as the temperature rises because the higher thermal energy breaks the covalent bonds and releases additional free electrons and holes.

Q Q23. Are the mock tests on this platform available in Hindi?

Yes, all the questions, answer choices, and explanations are provided in both languages, so both Hindi medium (बिहार बोर्ड 12th फिजिक्स ऑनलाइन टेस्ट) and English medium students can practice easily.

Q Q24. How much time should I allocate to Section A during the real exam?

You should not spend more than 40 to 45 minutes on Section A. This will leave you with about 2 hours and 30 minutes to answer the short and long answer questions in Section B.

Q Q25. What type of pen should be used for bubbling the BSEB OMR sheet?

You must use either a blue or black ballpoint pen to fill in the OMR bubbles. Gel pens, ink pens, and pencils are strictly not allowed because they may smudge and cause errors when scanned.
