CBT Exam Pattern

Duration: 90 Minutes. Negative Marking: 1/3rd for each wrong answer.

CBT-1 Exam Pattern

Common for ALP & Technician, qualifying in nature.

Duration: 60 Minutes. Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark.

CBT-2 Exam Pattern

Consists of two parts: Part A and Part B.

• Part A (Merit Deciding): 100 Questions, 90 Minutes. Syllabus includes Maths, Reasoning, Basic Science & Engineering.
• Part B (Qualifying): 75 Questions, 60 Minutes. This part is based on the relevant trade syllabus.

Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark for both Part A & B.

The exam pattern for RRB Technician (CBT-1 and CBT-2) is the same as for RRB ALP. However, Technician candidates do not have to appear for the CBAT. The merit is based on the marks of CBT-2 Part A.
