BPSC AEDO Mock Test 2027 - Free 300 Marks Test Series

Last updated: September 13, 2026

Why I created this mock test series

My name is Shubham Kumar Sah and I work on the content and exam strategy team at SarkariMockTest.com. I am also preparing for the BPSC exams, and the AEDO position is one which I keep a close watch on. I don't study from a distance; instead I go through the same syllabus each day as all the other people do here.

Many of the candidates who are trying to get into AEDO spend most of their time studying General Studies on the assumption that it covers all the material they need. Yet Paper 1 also has parts on Maths, Reasoning, and General Language which a great many aspirants fail to take notice of until it's nearly exam time. Since there is negative marking, each guess involves a cost and therefore accuracy is more important than speed in the early stages.

It has been created in order to fill that gap. The mock exams contained in this series match the real exam in terms of the way marks are distributed, the time allowed for each section, and the negative marking system as well, so that on the day of the actual exam you'll not feel unsure. Moreover, we give a complete coverage of Paper 2, with the topics which candidates usually go through in the last month and then wish they had studied earlier.

A large part of this series is still free, for the same reason as always—that you shouldn't be required to pay money in order to find out your weak points before you have even started your serious preparation.

Since I am going through the preparation for my own BPSC exams, I look at each part of this series by posing myself one question: will this actually prove useful to somebody before the BPSC AEDO 2027 results are announced? And if the answer is no, then it will not be included.

What is the BPSC AEDO exam 2027?

The Bihar Public Service Commission holds the Assistant Education Development Officer (AEDO) examination with the aim of recruiting officers who are in charge of managing, inspecting, and improving educational and field programmes in the districts of Bihar.

The post provides a respectable government position with the Bihar government, together with job security, administrative powers, and well-defined routes for promotion.

BPSC AEDO Exam Pattern and Marks Distribution

In order to pass the exam, it is necessary to have a clear understanding of the test's structure since the written part comprises two main papers worth a total of 300 marks and each of these papers examines particular skills which an administrative officer needs on a day-to-day basis.

Paper Subject Name Number of Questions Total Marks Duration Negative Marking
Paper 1 General Language (in Hindi and English), Elementary Maths, and Reasoning 100 100 marks 2 hours (120 minutes) One-third (0.33 mark deducted for each wrong answer)
Paper 2 General Studies, Bihar Special GK, and Rural Development Concepts 100 200 Marks (2 marks for each question) 2 Hours (120 Minutes) One third (0.66 mark deducted for each wrong answer)
Total Combined Papers 200 Questions 300 Marks 4 Hours total Standard BPSC Negative Marking

Negative Marking Rules

The BPSC imposes strict penalties for guessing. For each question that you answer wrongly, one-third of the mark assigned to that question is deducted from your total score:

  • In Paper 1 each question carries one mark and if you get it wrong you lose 0.33 marks.
  • In Paper 2 each question carries 2 marks and a wrong answer leads to a deduction of 0.66 marks.
  • If you don't answer a question by leaving all the circles unmarked, no marks will be taken away.
  • If two answers are selected on the OMR sheet for the same question, that response is counted as incorrect, even if one of the bubbles is correct.

Features of the BPSC AEDO Mock Test Series 2027

A good mock test should do more than simply calculate your score. It should show you where you lost marks, why you lost them, and what to study next. Here is how our mock test platform works:

  • Real Exam Environment: The tests simulate the exact timing, negative marking, and interface you will see on test day.
  • All India Rank (AIR) and Live Percentile: Your score is compared immediately against thousands of active aspirants across Bihar and India. You see your exact percentile, rank, and score tier.
  • Sectional Accuracy Tracking: The system calculates your accuracy percentage for every single section (e.g., General Hindi vs. Mental Ability vs. Indian Polity).
  • Time-Per-Question Breakdown: See which questions took you more than 90 seconds to solve. This helps you identify speed traps in Mathematics and Reasoning.
  • Topper Comparison Metrics: Compare your time spent, question selection order, and subject accuracy directly with the top 1% rankers.
  • Bilingual Questions: Toggle between Hindi and English with one click, exactly like the real BPSC exam paper.

AI-Based Weak Area Recommendation

Smart Diagnostic Engine

The most useful tool in this series is the AI-powered Weak Area Recommendation Engine. Instead of leaving you to work out what needs to be revised, the system functions similarly to a private tutor going through your answer sheet. Once you've completed each test, the engine looks at the questions you got wrong, those that you skipped, and the ones where you spent too much time. It then links these mistakes back to the micro-syllabus.

For example, if you get three questions wrong on the 73rd Panchayati Raj Amendment and take over two minutes to answer a simple interest question, your dashboard will show:

  • The exact sub-topic that you need to revise (for instance, Polity: Articles 243A to 243O).
  • Recommended summary revision notes to fix concept gaps quickly.
  • A short practice exercise made up of 10 targeted questions focused on that particular weakness.

AI-based weak area recommendation dashboard for BPSC AEDO mock Caption: AI-powered candidate dashboard displaying Paper 1 and Paper 2 accuracy heatmaps, time-per-question analysis, and personalized micro-topic recommendations for BPSC AEDO aspirants.

Detailed Step-by-Step Answer Explanations

Each question is accompanied by a full text explanation in plain, simple language. Where appropriate, the questions also include reference notes, memory aids, and direct links to NCERT or other standard reference materials so that you understand the underlying rule, not just the correct answer letter.

Daily Current Affairs Quiz and Habit Building

Consistency is key to success in the BPSC exams. Trying to cram six months' worth of Bihar current affairs into the last week before the exam seldom works because the overlap in memory causes confusion when negative marking is applied.

Take ten minutes every morning to do our free daily current affairs quiz. It covers:

  • Bihar Cabinet decisions and government resolutions.
  • National and international current affairs.
  • Union and state economic data releases.
  • Important appointments, awards, and sports records.

You can access the daily quiz using the link below:

Category-wise Cutoff Trends (Historical Analysis)

Understanding past cutoff marks helps you set a realistic target score. Don't aim just for the basic passing mark; always aim 15 to 20 marks above the expected cutoff to stay safe in case of shifts due to high competition.

The table below shows the category-wise score trends from recent BPSC examinations of similar administrative and field-officer cadres (all normalized to a 300-mark scale):

Preparation Strategy: How to Prepare for Both Paper 1 and Paper 2 Together

Many candidates make the mistake of studying General Studies for months on end and then only deal with Paper 1 in the last few weeks. This often leads to disqualification because of the negative marking in Maths, Reasoning, and Language, which adversely affects their total score. Use this well-balanced study plan to prepare for both papers at the same time:

Daily 8-Hour Study Schedule:

Paper 2 (GS) is four hours long
• History & Bihar GK
• Polity / Economy
Paper 1 is two point five hours long
• Maths & Reasoning
• Hindi / English
The time allocated to current affairs is one hour
• Daily Quiz & Notes
and that for mock exams or revision is half an hour
• Error Log Analysis

Phase 1: Foundation Building (Months 1 to 3)
Finish the NCERT textbooks for History, Geography, and Science for Classes 8 through 12.
To get familiar with the geography, history, and details regarding the districts of Bihar, study Bihar-specific general knowledge books.
Every two days work through one chapter of elementary mathematics and one chapter of reasoning.
Each day take thirty minutes to go over the basic Hindi grammar rules, for example Sandhi, Samas, and Idioms.

Phase 2: Micro-Topic Mastery and Sectional Tests (Months 4 and 5)
Switching from reading textbooks to taking quizzes chapter by chapter.
Begin your study of the latest Bihar Economic Survey and the state budget, paying special attention to the rates of agricultural growth, literacy rates broken down by district, and the main welfare schemes of the state.
Start taking one full-length Paper 1 mock test and one full-length Paper 2 mock test every weekend.
It is important to keep an Error Log Notebook; whenever you answer a question incorrectly due to a factual misunderstanding or a mistake in your calculations, you should write that entry in the notebook and then go through it each Sunday night.

Phase 3: High-Intensity Mock Practice (Final 6 Weeks)
Each week you should take two full-length mock tests worth 300 marks under the same conditions as the actual exam (with a strict time limit, no breaks and no use of your phone).
To practise, you should use printed OMR sheets and a black ballpoint pen in order that you may acquire muscle memory and avoid mistakes resulting from incorrect bubbling.
Cease reading any new reference books and focus entirely on your error log, your high-frequency revision notes, and the current affairs compilations.

Best Books for BPSC AEDO Preparation

Picking the right study materials means you won't waste time; the list below contains a selection of books to follow.

Subject Area Recommended Book Title Author / Publisher Purpose & Utility

Indian History A Brief History of Modern India Rajiv Ahir (published by Spectrum Publications) includes useful material on the Indian struggle for freedom and the national movement.
General Science Lucent's General Science or NCERT Science (for Classes 9 and 10) Lucent Publications / NCERT covers the fundamental physical, chemical, and biological concepts which are included in the BPSC exams.

7 Fatal Mistakes Candidates Make in BPSC Exams

Because of small mistakes which they could have prevented, a great many students who work hard fail their exams. You should be careful about these seven common errors:

  1. The notion that Paper 1 is merely an easy qualifying paper may result in your exclusion from the final merit list because of the negative marking—for instance, if you lose 15 marks on questions involving basic math or language.
  2. It's purely a guess: if a one-third penalty is applied, randomly guessing on five questions will generally result in an overall score that is negative. You should only make an educated guess when you are certain that you can eliminate at least two of the answers.
  3. You will not come across information regarding Bihar's agricultural plan, the degree of district urbanization, or the state's overall irrigation schemes in general books dealing with the Indian economy, and the BPSC places great importance on these local details.
  4. You may make mistakes on the day of the exam if you only do your practice work on computer screens, such as putting in option B when you actually intended to put in option C. For this reason, you should regularly practice filling out paper OMR sheets.
  5. Failing to go through the explanations in a practice test means missing a valuable opportunity; you must spend at least 45 minutes looking at the explanations for each question that you got wrong or that you skipped.
  6. If you are unable to manage your time in Paper 1, you might find yourself stuck on a long reasoning question or an arithmetic calculation and thus won't have enough time left to answer the simpler grammar questions at the end of the paper.
  7. If you collect too many books, it is far more effective to read one standard book five times than to go through five different history books once; therefore, keep your list of books as short as possible and continually revise it.

Sample High-Yield Practice Questions with Solutions

To give you an idea of the questions in our test series, review these worked sample questions from Paper 1 and Paper 2:

Sample Question 1 (Paper 1: Elementary Mathematics)
What is the original principal when a sum of money lent at simple interest amounts to Rs. 4,800 after 2 years and Rs. 6,000 after 5 years at the same annual interest rate?
(A) Rs. 3,600
(B) Rs. 4,000
(C) Rs. 3,800
(D) Rs. 4,200

The right choice is option (B), Rs. 4,000.

Step-by-Step Explanation:
After five years the total sum will be equal to the original principal plus the simple interest for five years, that is, Rs. 6,000.
After two years the total sum will be equal to the original principal plus the simple interest for two years, that is Rs. 4,800.
If you subtract equation (2) from equation (1), the simple interest for 3 years (5 minus 2) is Rs. 6,000 less Rs. 4,800, that is to say Rs. 1,200.
The amount of simple interest for one year is Rs. 1,200 divided by 3, making it Rs. 400.
The amount of simple interest over two years is 400 rupees times 2, making 800 rupees.
The principal is equal to the total amount after two years less the simple interest for two years, that is Rs. 4,800 less Rs. 800 which amounts to Rs. 4,000.

Sample Question 2 (Paper 2: Bihar History)
Question: In the Quit India Movement of 1942, which of the following leaders escaped from Hazaribagh Central Jail and set up the underground 'Azad Dasta' in the dense forests of Nepal with a view to carrying out guerrilla warfare against British rule?
(A) Dr. Rajendra Prasad
(B) Jayaprakash Narayan
(C) Sri Krishna Singh
(D) Swami Sahajanand Saraswati

Correct Answer: (B) Jayaprakash Narayan

Step-by-Step Explanation:
On the night of Diwali in November 1942, Jayaprakash Narayan (JP) escaped from Hazaribagh Central Jail with Ramnandan Mishra, Yogendra Shukla, and Suraj Narayan Singh.
They went to the Terai area of Nepal and set up the Azad Dasta (Freedom Brigade), the main aim of which was to train young volunteers in the techniques of sabotage and guerrilla warfare so as to disrupt British transport, communication lines, and police outposts during the Quit India Movement.
