The UGC NET Results 2026 for the June session were announced by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on August 28, 2026, including results for 84 of the 87 subjects that were examined between June 22 and June 30, 2026. Candidates are now able to obtain their scorecard from ugcnet.nta.ac.in by entering their application number and date of birth. The NTA has also published the UGC NET Cut Off Marks 2026, broken down by subject and by category, since these marks determine eligibility for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), a position as Assistant Professor, and admission to a PhD programme. The results for English, Commerce, and Sociology have been put on hold while a re-examination takes place from September 9 to 10, 2026.

How to Download the UGC NET Scorecard 2026

1. Go to the official website at ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
2. To get to the homepage, click on the link labelled 'UGC-NET June 2026: Click Here For Scorecard' in the Candidate Activity section.
3. Type in your Application Number and Date of Birth, then click submit.
4. The scorecard will be shown on the screen – please check your marks, percentile, and whether or not you have qualified.
5. Save the PDF and download it, then make a printed copy for your personal records.

People applying for English, Commerce, or Sociology may at this moment be receiving a message which says "Invalid Application Number/Password" — however, NTA has made it clear that this is not a technical mistake on your part, it just means that your results have been withheld until the re-exam is held and then assessed.

UGC NET Cut Off Marks 2026: Category-Wise Qualifying Marks

Important: the figures given are the minimum qualifying marks, not the actual subject and category cutoffs. The true subject- and category-wise cutoff scores are determined after normalisation and are generally above this floor — they vary depending on the number of candidates who appeared, the difficulty level, and the total number of qualifying spots (6% of the candidates who appeared) for that subject and category.

Example of a past case — when analysing the trends from recent cycles, the cutoff mark for the General category at the JRF level in History has usually been set well above the 40% threshold, the cutoffs for the OBC/SC/ST categories being correspondingly lower but still remaining above the 35% minimum. It is necessary to always check the official cutoff PDF for your specific subject on ugcnet.nta.ac.in rather than depending on the minimum marks table given above, as the subject-specific cutoffs differ from cycle to cycle.

How to Check the Subject-Wise Cut Off PDF

1. Go to ugcnet.nta.ac.in.
2. Click the "UGC NET Cut Off 2026" link in Latest Updates.
3. Choose your topic from the list.
4. The PDF will provide the cutoff marks or percentiles for each category regarding the JRF, Assistant Professor, and PhD-only levels.
5. Take your score and compare it with the row that corresponds to your category.

UGC NET Certificate & DigiLocker Download

Your scorecard and your UGC NET Certificate are entirely separate documents; the scorecard displays your marks while the certificate is the official certificate of eligibility which is issued later after the final qualifying list has been confirmed. The NTA does not send out physical certificates to people who have qualified normally—only those who have been awarded a JRF receive communication relating to their fellowship. In order to access your e-certificate when it has been released:

• Go to ugcnet.nta.ac.in and log in using your application number and date of birth.
• Another option is to open the DigiLocker app, log in using the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar, search for the issuer 'National Testing Agency (NTA)', and then choose your UGC NET certificate.

Make sure you have both a digital and a printed version of the certificate since universities and recruitment offices often request it when carrying out document verification, for PhD admissions, or when recruiting faculty members.
