The second merit list for Bihar's DElEd in 2026 has been announced: you can download your college seat allotment intimation letter and check the admission schedule at results.deledbihar.in.

The Bihar School Examination Board published its Bihar DElEd 2nd Merit List 2026 on 5 September 2026, and should your name be on the list you will have a strict four-day period in which to take action. Applications based on this list will only be accepted from 5 to 8 September 2026 — if you fail to do so, the BSEB may permanently cancel your candidacy for this counselling cycle, no matter what your merit rank is.

The guide shows you the steps for downloading your seat allotment letter, explains precisely how the slide-up option functions this year, and, most important of all, makes clear a rule which confuses more candidates than any other aspect of the process: you cannot use slide-up as a substitute for securing admission.

Why This Diploma Matters Beyond the Merit List

If you're applying for this place, you will already be aware of the endgame, namely that the D.El.Ed qualification is the diploma which makes it possible for you to take the BPSC Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) for elementary-level teaching positions in Bihar. This second merit list is not merely about securing a college place—it is the first step onto that longer career pathway for teachers. Which is precisely the reason why it is so important to get the admission ranking right this week.

The Rule That Will Cost You Your Seat If You Get It Wrong

Before you carry out anything else, read this section twice.

You are required to pay the ₹3,000 security deposit and to officially apply for admission to the college that has been allocated to you in this second Merit List by 8 September 2026 if you are to consider attempting the Slide-Up option. Slide-Up is not an alternative to admission; it is a request which can only be made after you have already obtained the place you currently have.

The reason this causes problems for candidates is that a large number of them think that, since their aim is to get into a better college by means of slide-up, they can skip the formal admission process at the college to which they have currently been allotted and just wait around. This is quite the reverse of the correct approach and represents a serious error. Should you not finish your admission and make the payment within the 5 to 8 September period, BSEB will regard this as abandoning the opportunity. Your position in this round will then be permanently cancelled and you will also be excluded from consideration for the next round's allotment — your merit rank will not shield you from this result.

The Correct Sequence

  1. Get your letter allocating your second Merit List quota.
  2. Go to the college that has been assigned to you and leave the security deposit of ₹3,000.
  3. Enroll fully and formally at that institute by 8 September 2026.
  4. At that point you should log back into the student portal and if you want one, make a Slide-Up request for a higher-preference university.
  5. If a seat with a higher priority becomes available to you in a subsequent list, then the seat you currently have becomes vacant and is redistributed, but your admission status remains secure during this time.

The one-time payment of ₹3,000 will be transferred to your new college instead of being charged again if you are moved to a different one by slide-up.

Has the Second Merit List for the Bihar DElEd Course in 2026 Been Released?

Yes, the BSEB announced on 5 September 2026 the release of the second Merit List, the category-wise cut-off ranks, and the individual allotment letters, all of which could be viewed directly via the candidate's login on results.deledbihar.in and bsebdeled.com.

Step-by-Step: How to Download Your Seat Allotment Intimation Letter

  1. Go to the official website — results.deledbihar.in or bsebdeled.com.
  2. Find the link on the homepage marked 'D.El.Ed Admission 2nd Merit List 2026' or 'Download Allotment Letter'.
  3. By clicking on the link, you will be taken to the page where you can log in or view the results.
  4. Input your Application Number / Application ID and Date of Birth exactly as they were recorded when you completed your Common Application Form (CAF).
  5. Load your result and allotment status by clicking on View or Submit.
  6. If you are given a seat, the letter informing you of your college seat allocation will show on screen — be sure to check the name of the college, its code, the category, and the reporting deadline.
  7. Download the PDF and get yourself at least two printed copies, keeping one for the college and one as a personal record.
  8. If your name isn't shown among the allotments, look to see if it appears under 'waiting' or 'not selected', as these statuses have different subsequent actions.

You can get your results by going to secondary.biharboardonline.com, which uses the same login system as that used for the other BSEB counselling processes.

Mandatory Documents Checklist for Admission

Carry these originals plus one self-attested photocopy of each when reporting to your allotted institute — colleges will not process admission with incomplete documentation:

Regarding the numbering: different sources refer to the counselling rounds using slightly different numbers (such as the 2nd versus the 3rd list) because the timing of when the schedule was published varies, as the BSEB has extended the dates more than once during this cycle. This article adopts the numbering used by BSEB itself — treating the list issued on 5 September 2026, with admissions due by 8 September, as the 2nd Merit List — this is in line with the information available on the official websites deledbihar.in and bsebdeled.com. The dates that you see on your personal login should always be taken as final, even if they conflict with any third-party schedule, including this one.

What Will Occur If You Are Not Included in This List?

That doesn't mean you're finished just because your name isn't on the 2nd Merit List. Generally, the BSEB permits candidates who have not yet been selected to submit new or altered preferences for institutes for consideration in the following round, especially in view of seats that have become vacant due to slide-up movements and non-joiners. During this period, you should regularly check your login status on results.deledbihar.in rather than simply assuming that your chances have disappeared.
