The Society for Centralized Recruitment of Staff in Subordinate Courts (SSSC), functioning under the High Court of Punjab and Haryana, released the Haryana Court Clerk Admit Card 2026 on 17 August 2026 for 1,265 Clerk posts under Advt. No. 36C/SSSC/HR/2026. The Computer Based Test runs across multiple days and shifts, from 24 August to 7 September 2026, so your exact date and slot only show up on your individual hall ticket, not in the general notice. Login with your Registration ID and Password at sssc.gov.in to download it. Below, you'll find the direct download steps, the full marking scheme (including a recent corrigendum change worth knowing about), and what to carry on exam day.

A Corrigendum Changed the English Paper — Don't Study the Old Pattern

📌 SSSC revised the English Composition objective section from 50 questions down to 20 questions (20 marks), through an official corrigendum. The subjective portion — essay, letter, precis, and translation — stays at 30 marks, so English still totals 50 marks overall, same as before. Only the internal split changed. A few articles still floating around online reference the original 50-question objective format, so if you've been prepping off an older source, this is the update to lock in before exam day.

CBT Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme

Section Format Marks
General Knowledge 50 Objective Questions 50
English Composition — Objective 20 Questions (revised via corrigendum) 20
English Composition — Subjective Essay (10), Letter (5), Precis (5), Translation (10) 30
Total 2 Hours Duration 100

Negative marking of 0.25 (1/4th) applies to every wrong answer in the objective sections — General Knowledge and the English objective portion — while unattempted questions cost you nothing either way.

The Qualifying Rule That Trips Candidates Up

This is where a lot of otherwise well-prepared candidates lose out: you need at least 33% in General Knowledge and at least 33% in English Composition, separately — plus a 40% aggregate across both. Score 55% overall but only 28% in English, and you're out, regardless of how strong your GK section was. There's also a hidden sequencing rule worth knowing: your subjective English answers only get evaluated at all if you clear the 33% threshold in General Knowledge first. If you miss that GK cutoff, nobody even reads your essay.

Stage 2: Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) & Final Merit

Candidates who clear the CBT move to a qualifying Computer Proficiency Test with two parts. Part 1 is a Spreadsheet Test, where you need a minimum of 4 marks to advance. Part 2, a Typing Test at a minimum speed of 30 words per minute in English, is only evaluated for candidates who clear Part 1 — so a weak spreadsheet score can knock you out before your typing is even looked at. The CPT itself carries no weight in the final merit list; that comes purely from your CBT score, which is exactly why the written exam deserves your full preparation effort, not just a passing attempt.

Exam Day: What to Carry

  • Printed copy of your Haryana Court Clerk Admit Card 2026
  • A valid original photo ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, or Passport — check your admit card for the exact accepted list)
  • Two recent passport-size photographs
  • A working ballpoint pen

Exam date, shift, and centre are fixed once assigned — SSSC's notice states these will not be changed under any circumstance, and no correspondence on the matter will be entertained. Plan your travel to your centre well ahead of your shift time rather than assuming you can sort logistics on exam morning.

Final Word:

With CBT day approaching fast, split your remaining prep time deliberately — General Knowledge rewards pure recall, while the English subjective section rewards practice writing on paper, not just reading grammar rules. Since your essay only gets evaluated if you clear 33% in GK first, don't let General Knowledge become the section you deprioritize. Download your admit card today, confirm your exam centre and shift, and plan your travel now rather than the night before.
