Madhya Pradesh Mock Test 2027: Free MPPSC & Police Series

Madhya Pradesh State Examinations Gateway 2027: Master Preparation Hub for MPPSC, Vyapam & Police Services

Disclaimer regarding the Three-Tier Freshness Protocol and the Anti-Deceptive Cycle: This page separates the established historical and geographical facts from the exam pattern as stated in the latest notification, and also contains forward-looking references concerning the 2027 cycle. Although historical timelines and physical boundaries are permanent, the exam pattern, district reorganizations, and vacancies specific to a particular cycle may be altered once they have been officially published in the gazette. To ensure complete transparency, the current 2026 recruitment notifications are clearly differentiated from the series of mock tests which are intended for candidates who are preparing for the 2027 exams. Applicants must always verify the dates and rules on the official websites before submitting their applications.

The SarkariMockTest Madhya Pradesh Mock Test 2027 Hub provides a free full-length test series for the MPPSC Prelims (this having been adjusted to correspond with the new scheme of three marks per question and a one-mark negative penalty), the MP Police Constable exam, the MP Patwari exam, and the MPTET, all in accordance with the updated 55-district curriculum. Those who are preparing for posts in the administrative services, in the police uniform, in the revenue departments, and in the field of school education can use the tests which are in authentic Hindi and English. Each practice paper strictly follows the syllabus weightings, marking rules, and time limits that have been set by the examination boards in Indore and Bhopal.

Candidates often pose questions like "Is negative marking applicable in the MPPSC Prelims 2026–2027?" and "How many districts are there in Madhya Pradesh for the purpose of MPPSC GK preparation?" In order to do well in state-level recruitment examinations, it is necessary to know the MPPSC's new negative marking formula, the fact that CSAT Paper 2 is a qualifying paper, and the combined written and physical assessment system employed in the MP Police Bharti. The practice papers offered by our testing system include time limits, full explanations for each question, and instant state-wise rank evaluations, all without any paywalls.

Important Notice: The MPPSC Prelims is now different from the earlier exam pattern in that it has negative marking (1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer). Ensure that you do not use outdated question banks which lack negative marking.

Why This Mock Test Series Was Put Together

My name is Shubham Kumar Sah and I am the founder of SarkariMockTest.com. The exam system in Madhya Pradesh has changed in such a way that many question banks have not yet kept up with it.

The MPPSC Prelims originally had no negative marking, but this is no longer the case. Each question is now worth three marks and a wrong answer results in a loss of one mark—this is known as the 3R-W formula. A candidate who practices using an old question bank which doesn't have negative marking is therefore developing a habit of guessing that will actually disadvantage them when taking the actual exam.

The geography of the state also changed since Madhya Pradesh now has 55 districts rather than 52; Mauganj, Pandhurna, and Maihar were created in 2023, and a great deal of coaching content has not updated its district maps and GK sets to take this into account.

This hub has dedicated, clearly labelled sections for all five exams — MPPSC, Police Constable, Patwari, Vanrakshak, and MPTET — with the correct and up-to-date marking schemes for each, thus avoiding any confusion between MPPSC's new penalty and the zero-negative-marking rule which still applies to Police, Vanrakshak, and MPTET. With regard to Police Constable preparation, the site provides a complete overview: while the 100 marks from the written exam are important, the 100-mark Physical Efficiency Test, which is added to them for final merit, is also covered — a point that many mock test platforms that only offer written exam preparation neglect to include.

In most of the series the content remains free throughout all the modules. You shouldn't have to pay in order to find out beforehand whether your weak point is the revised Prelims penalty imposed by MP, the correct district count, or your readiness for the Physical Test.

When I am developing and updating the tests for those preparing for Madhya Pradesh, I constantly check all the material on this website by asking myself one question: will this actually enable someone to face their particular 2027 exam – whatever that five-exam option is – with the current pattern rather than an outdated one? If the answer is no, then it is not included.

 What Most Platforms Get Wrong

Evaluation Area What Most Traditional Platforms Offer SarkariMockTest Differentiator
For MPPSC negative marking the old pattern is still being followed, that is, either no penalty or a penalty of 2 marks per question; under the new pattern it is 3 marks per question with a deduction of -1 mark (3R - W).
The Districts Matrix: an outdated geography is still seen in 90% of the websites, whereas a fully updated 55-district framework has been introduced, this time including Mauganj, Pandhurna, and Maihar.
The Police Bharti Scoring system only takes into account the written examination and ignores the 100-mark physical test. It also features an Integrated Merit Simulator which combines the 100-mark written test with the 100-mark physical efficiency test.
The language and medium quality relies on automated translations which distort the Hindi legal and administrative terms and offers the content in standard Hindi and English, using terminology as defined by the Madhya Pradesh Hindi Granth Akademi.
The Unified State Gateway has separate pages for each department since its interfaces are fragmented and includes a single master hub which covers all five major state recruitment tracks in one place.

Free vs Paid Mock Test Comparison

Preparation Parameter Typical Commercial Coaching Portals SarkariMockTest Unified Madhya Pradesh Hub
Access Policy: Fees are charged by paywalls for each individual pass of an exam. All five state recruitment modules offer open access.
For Negative Marking Calibration, a fixed penalty is applied to all tests without checking with the board. However, the penalties have been calibrated by board: 3R – W for MPPSC, and zero penalty for Police Bharti, Vanrakshak, and MPTET.
The district geography refers to the 52-district arrangement that existed before 2023. It has now been fully updated to take into account the new 55-district layout, which includes Mauganj, Pandhurna, and Maihar.
The direct machine translations cause technical terms to become confusing. Hindi that is written to the standard required in official MPPSC and MPESB question papers.
For Full-Length Tests, only a single sample test is available before the papers are locked behind a paywall. However, for each module there are several full simulations along with complete answer keys.

55 Districts & 10 Administrative Divisions (Mauganj, Pandhurna, Maihar — The 3 Newest Districts)

An old study guide states that Madhya Pradesh has 52 districts, whereas in order to achieve an accurate score in the state exams candidates are required to use the present administrative map.

The state of Madhya Pradesh is made up of 55 administrative districts which are grouped within 10 revenue divisions. In 2023 the Madhya Pradesh state government published official gazette notices to establish three new districts:

  • The 53rd district, Mauganj, was formed from Rewa district and includes the tehsils of Mauganj, Hanumana, Naigarhi and Deotalab.
  • The 54th district, Pandhurna, was formed from Chhindwara district and includes the Pandhurna and Sausar tehsils; it is famous for the traditional Gotmar fair which takes place on the Jam River.
  • The 55th district, Maihar, was notified in October 2023 and was formed from the Satna district; it is well known for the Maa Sharda Devi temple located on Trikuta hill and for the Maihar classical music gharana linked with Ustad Allauddin Khan.

History & Freedom Movement (Rani Durgavati, Rani Avantibai, Chandrashekhar Azad, Raja Bhoj)

  • Raja Bhoj, who belonged to the Paramara dynasty and ruled from Dhar between 1010 and 1055 CE, founded the planned city of Bhopal (also known as Bhojpal) and built the large Shiva temple at Bhojpur; he was a famous scholar-king and authored a number of classic Sanskrit works, including the Samarangana Sutradhara (a work on architecture) and the Saraswati Kanthabharana.
  • Rani Durgavati, a member of the Chandel family, was a princess who married into the royal family of the Gonds of Garha-Mandla. Following the death of Dalpat Shah she served as regent for her young son, Vir Narayan, established public water systems (referred to as Ranital and Cherital), and defended her kingdom against the Mughal forces led by Asaf Khan, before dying in battle on 24 June 1564 at Narrai Nala near Jabalpur.
  • Rani Avantibai Lodhi of Ramgarh (1831–1858) was the heroine of the First War of Independence in 1857 in the Mahakoshal region; when the British authorities transferred Ramgarh under the authority of the Court of Wards, she drove out the British officials, defeated the colonial forces at Kheri, and went on fighting until she died in the Devhargarh forests in March 1858.

Tribal Freedom Fighters:

  • Tantia Bhil (also known as Tantia Mama) was called the 'Robin Hood of India' and headed armed opposition to British exploitation in the Nimar region between 1878 and 1889; the railway station at Patalpani near Mhow is named in his honour.
  • Bheema Nayak was in charge of the Bhil resistance in the Nimar and Barwani regions during the 1857 revolt and fought against the colonial forces before he was captured and afterwards executed in the Andaman Islands.
  • Raja Shankar Shah and Kunwar Raghunath Shah, the royal father and son of Garha-Mandla, wrote patriotic verses in order to encourage their native regiments during 1857 and were then shot out of the cannons by the British authorities in Jabalpur on 18 September 1857.
  • Chandrashekhar Azad was born on 23 July 1906 in Bhabhra (this place is today known as Azad Nagar in the Alirajpur district). While serving as commander-in-chief of the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association (HSRA), he carried out revolutionary activities throughout North India and kept to his promise of remaining at large until his death at Alfred Park in Allahabad in February 1931.

Wildlife & Forests: Tiger State (785 Tigers, 7 Tiger Reserves) & Kuno National Park

The state in India that is known as the Tiger State is Madhya Pradesh, which has been formally given that title and includes 785 tigers as recorded in the national tiger census, the highest number of tigers of any state in India.

The 7 Tiger Reserves of Madhya Pradesh:

  • The Kanha Tiger Reserve (located in Mandla/Balaghat) is the oldest national park in Madhya Pradesh and is famous for the recovery of the hard-ground swamp deer, or Barasingha (Rucervus duvaucelii branderi), which is the official mascot of the reserve, Bhoorsingh the Barasingha.
  • The Royal Bengal tiger population makes the Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve (Umaria) famous, the site has registered historical observations of white tigers, and there are also the ancient ruins of the Bandhavgarh fort.
  • The area known as the Pench Tiger Reserve (which is located in the districts of Seoni and Chhindwara) is the one referred to in Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book and is famous for the forest corridor linked with Maharashtra.
  • The tiger population has now been re-established in the Panna Tiger Reserve (Panna/Chhatarpur), even though it had earlier become locally extinct; the reserve is separated by the Ken River.
  • The Satpura Tiger Reserve (Narmadapuram) is known for its rich biodiversity, its sandstone hills, and its walking forest safaris.
  • The Sanjay-Dubri Tiger Reserve (located in Sidhi) is an important wildlife migration corridor which links the forests of central India with those of Chhattisgarh.
  • The Veerangana Durgavati Tiger Reserve, which is the seventh tiger reserve, was established by joining the Nauradehi Wildlife Sanctuary (located in Sagar, Damoh and Narsinghpur) with the Veerangana Durgavati Sanctuary (in Damoh) and covers an area of more than 2,339 square kilometres.

Kuno National Park and Project Cheetah: The park is located in the Sheopur district of the Vindhyan hills and has therefore been selected as the site for India's national initiative aimed at reintroducing cheetahs. The first batch of wild African cheetahs (Acinonyx jubatus) from Namibia was released into Kuno on 17 September 2022, while a second translocation from South Africa occurred in February 2023.

Tribal Heritage & Arts (Bhil, Gond, Baiga, Bhagoria Festival, Pithora Paintings)

Madhya Pradesh houses India's largest tribal population, comprising over 21% of the state's total demographic across 43 recognized Scheduled Tribes:

  • The Bhil community is the largest tribal group in Madhya Pradesh and resides mostly in the western districts of Jhabua, Alirajpur, Dhar and Khargone; they are well known for their tradition of archery with bow and arrow (Vil), for their rich body of folklore, and for the ritual Pithora wall paintings carried out by traditional artists (Lakhindra), such as Bhuri Bai, who has received the Padma Shri.
  • The Gond community is the second largest group of tribal people residing in the Satpura and Narmada basins and is famous for its elaborate paintings in which nature and folk deities are depicted using fine lines and dot patterns.

Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs): The state recognizes three distinct PVTGs:

  • The Baiga live in the forested regions of Mandla, Dindori and Balaghat and are famous for their method of shifting cultivation (referred to as Bewar), for their use of herbal medicine, and for their traditional tattooing (known as Godna).
  • Bharia lives in the deep natural bowl valley at Patalkot in the Chhindwara district and maintains isolation in order to preserve the rare medicinal plants.
  • Sahariya is located in the northwestern parts of Morena, Sheopur, Gwalior and Shivpuri.
  • The Bhil and Bhilala tribes hold the Bhagoria Haat Festival in the week prior to Holi in the districts of Jhabua, Alirajpur and Barwani; the festival is an agricultural celebration marking the arrival of spring and includes large community markets, traditional flute music, collective dances and customs related to matchmaking.
  • The handloom traditions feature Chanderi sarees (which come from the Ashoknagar district and are woven from pure silk, cotton, and gold zari and have a Geographical Indication tag) as well as Maheshwari sarees (from the Khargone district, introduced by Rajmata Ahilyabai Holkar along the banks of the Narmada).

The UNESCO World Heritage Sites and geographical features of Madhya Pradesh

The three UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Madhya Pradesh:

  • The group of monuments at Khajuraho (which was included on the list in 1986) is in the Chhatarpur district and was constructed between 950 and 1050 CE by the rulers of the Chandela dynasty; it is well known for its stone temples of the Nagara style, such as the Kandariya Mahadeva Temple, the Lakshmana Temple and the Chaunsath Yogini Temple.
  • The great stupa (Stupa No. 1) at Sanchi, which contains the sacred Buddhist relics, and the carved stone toranas (gateways) in the Raisen district were ordered to be built by Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE.
  • The rock shelters at Bhimbetka, which were inscribed in 2003, are situated in the Raisen district in the foothills of the Vindhyan range; they were discovered in 1957 by the archaeologist Dr. V.S. Wakankar and include over 750 rock shelters from the Paleolithic and Mesolithic periods as well as rock art showing scenes of hunting and community rituals.

Dhupgarh Peak (since it is the highest point in Madhya Pradesh) has a height of 1,350 metres (4,429 feet) on the Mahadeo Hills in the Satpura range near Pachmarhi (in the Narmadapuram district) and is regarded as the highest geographical point in the state.

The Narmada River begins at the holy spring in Amarkantak, in the Anuppur district at an altitude of 1,057 metres and then flows westward for 1,077 km through Madhya Pradesh via a rift valley lying between the Vindhya and Satpura mountain ranges, where it is famous for the marble rock gorge at Bhedaghat and the powerful Dhuandhar Falls near Jabalpur before reaching the Gulf of Khambhat in Gujarat.

Module 1: MPPSC State Service (SSE Prelims) Mock Test

The State Service Examination, which is organised by the Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission (MPPSC), is responsible for appointing the administrative officers for the posts of Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Commercial Tax Officer and Chief Municipal Officer.

MPPSC STATE SERVICE PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION BLUEPRINT SSE Blueprint
| Paper 1: General Studies -> 100 Questions | 300 Marks | 2 Hours | Penalty: -1 Mark (3R - W) |
The list of candidates who are being cut off for admission to the Mains is decided according to the marks obtained in Paper 1!
| Paper 2: General Aptitude -> 100 Questions | 300 Marks | 2 Hours | Penalty: -1 Mark (3R - W) |
| (Qualifying only: 40% for UR/General, 33% for Reserved Categories) |

Paper 1: General Studies (100 questions / 300 marks) and Paper 2: CSAT (100 questions / 300 marks)

Under the new examination pattern, both of the preliminary papers consist of 300 marks based on 100 objective questions (3 marks per question):

  • Paper 1: General Studies (100 questions, 300 marks, 120 minutes) includes the History, Culture, and Literature of Madhya Pradesh; the History of India; the Geography of Madhya Pradesh; the Geography of India and the World; the Constitutional System and Economy of Madhya Pradesh; the Constitution and Governance of India; Science, Environment, and Health; Current International and National Affairs; and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). This paper is used to establish your preliminary cutoff rank.
  • Paper 2: General Aptitude / CSAT (100 questions, 300 marks, 120 minutes) consists of questions that assess reading comprehension based on passages in Hindi and English, as well as skills in interpersonal communication, logical reasoning, analytical ability, decision-making, general mental ability, and basic mathematics at the class 10 level.

The Revised Negative Marking Formula: 3R - W Explained

The notion that the MPPSC Prelims has no negative marking is still being given by a large number of coaching websites, and this is outdated information which is detrimental to candidates.

Negative marking is now applied to the objective type screening papers in the preliminary examination:

  • You get +3 marks for each question that you answer correctly.
  • A mark of -1 is taken off for each incorrect answer.
  • Questions which are not attempted are given a score of zero.
$$\text{Final Net Score} = 3R - W$$

R stands for the number of correct answers and W for the number of wrong ones. If you make three random guesses without eliminating any of the options, you will lose 3 marks when all three of your answers are wrong, equivalent to losing one fully correct answer.

CSAT Qualifying Threshold: 40% for UR/General, 33% for Reserved Categories

Candidates often do not understand the qualifying standard for Paper 2. The official criteria for qualification are:

  • For the Unreserved/General Category one must achieve a minimum score of 40% (120 out of 300 marks) in Paper 2.
  • For the Reserved Categories (SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD), a minimum score of 33 per cent (that is, 99 out of 300 marks) is needed in Paper 2.
  • For general category candidates, if they get 117 marks in Paper 2, Paper 1 will be ignored and they will therefore be disqualified even though their Paper 1 score is above the cutoff.
  • As concerning the State Forest Service, anyone taking the State Forest Service examination should know that the marks obtained in Paper 1 and Paper 2 are added together in order to determine the cutoff score for the Forest Service.

Module 2: MP Police Constable Mock Test

The Home Police Department recruits Police Constables (GD) and Special Armed Force (SAF) members via the MP Employees Selection Board (MPESB, Bhopal).

MP POLICE CONSTABLE RECRUITMENT SELECTION BLUEPRINT Police Blueprint
| Stage 1: Written CBT Exam -> 100 Questions | 100 Marks | 2 Hours | ZERO NEGATIVE MARKING |
| Stage 2: Physical Test -> 100 Marks (Running trials, shot put, long jump performance) |
| Final Merit Calculation -> Composite Score = Written Exam (100M) + Physical Test (100M) = 200M |

Stage 1: Written Exam (100 Qs / 100 Marks) — Zero Negative Marking

The written examination is a single-session computer-based test lasting 120 minutes:

  • The section on general knowledge and logical reasoning (40 questions worth 40 marks) covers Madhya Pradesh state history, the geography of its 55 districts, Indian polity, and reasoning puzzles.
  • The section on intellectual ability and mental aptitude (30 questions worth 30 marks) consists of items such as analogies, coding and decoding, completion of series, and spatial orientation.
  • Science and Simple Arithmetic (30 Questions / 30 Marks): Everyday science at the secondary level (covering physics, chemistry, and biology) and arithmetic for Class 10.
  • The written examination includes no negative marking and candidates must maintain a 100 per cent attempt rate by answering all of the questions in the 100 items.

Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (100 Marks) — The Integrated Merit Simulator

Unlike central police exams where physical tests are merely qualifying, MP Police Constable uses a 100-mark Physical Efficiency Test (PET) that directly counts toward the final selection merit list:

  • In the 800-metre race (40 marks), the score is based on the runner's time, with full marks being given for a time of under 2 minutes and 4 seconds and reduced scores being awarded for slower times.
  • In the shot put competition (30 marks), men receive the maximum number of marks when they throw an iron ball weighing 7.26 kg a distance of over 28 feet.
  • In the case of the long jump (30 marks), top-level marks are given if the jump is more than 18 feet.

The candidate's final position is determined by a Composite Merit Score on a scale of 200 (100 points from the Written part and 100 points from the Physical part), and even if a candidate does well in the written exam it does not guarantee selection if their physical scores are low.

Module 3: MP Patwari & Group 2 Sub-Group 4 Mock Test

The MPESB holds in Bhopal the combined recruitment examination for the post of Patwari (in the Revenue Department) and for the subordinate executive posts belonging to Group 2 Sub-Group 4.

Preparation Strategy: MP GK Foundation + Module-Specific Depth Together

Succeeding in competitive examinations in Madhya Pradesh requires a two-step study plan:

Step 1: Master the Shared State Foundation

In step 1 you should learn the Shared State Foundation by spending 45 minutes each morning studying the physical geography of Madhya Pradesh, the administrative arrangement of the 55 districts, the tiger reserves, and the ethnography of the tribal populations as well as the history of the freedom fighters. Since knowledge specific to the state makes up 30% to 45% of the questions in the MPPSC, Police and Patwari exams, becoming proficient in this foundation gives you an immediate advantage in terms of scoring.

Step 2: Focus on Module-Specific Exam Patterns

  • To take the MPPSC State Service examination, practice controlled elimination techniques in order to guard against the loss of marks under the new 3R - W penalty system and work through regular CSAT comprehension passages so as to clear the qualifying threshold (40% for general candidates / 33% for reserved categories).
  • For the post of MP Police Constable: carry out in the morning physical training consisting of running, the long jump and the shot put, and at the same time carry out every day practice in basic reasoning, arithmetic and general science, making sure to answer all the questions with zero negative marking.
  • With regard to MP Patwari and Group 2 Sub-Group 4, it is necessary to distribute the study hours equally among all eight sections, with particular focus on General Management and Computer Awareness.
  • For the MP Vanrakshak and Jail Prahari personnel: Keep up a high standard in the basic subjects of science, mathematics, and Hindi grammar.
  • For those preparing for the MPTET: focus on child development and subject-specific pedagogy and make sure that you attempt all the questions on the day of the exam.

Common Mistakes Aspirants Make in Madhya Pradesh Competitive Exams

  • Suppose that the MPPSC still has no negative marking: this causes candidates to use previous question banks which do not penalise incorrect answers and thus leads to random guesses that are then heavily deducted under the new one-mark penalty system.
  • Because outdated 52-district geographical maps were used, errors occurred on the questions about Mauganj, Pandhurna, and Maihar, since the resources being relied upon predate the late 2023 administrative reorganization.
  • Neglecting physical fitness in the MP police recruitment: treating the physical trials as no more than a qualifying hurdle while failing to take into account the fact that the score obtained in the 100-mark Physical Efficiency Test is added directly to the written score to determine the candidate's final selection merit.
  • Misunderstanding the requirement for CSAT qualification: believing that one's CSAT marks will be added to the merit score in the MPPSC prelims, or not meeting the minimum passing threshold (40% for the General category / 33% for the Reserved categories).
  • Failing to look at the error logs after finishing practice tests: by only examining your final score and not checking the explanation boxes for the questions you got wrong, you miss the chance to clear up any misunderstandings before the exam day.

Practical Preparation Advice: Module Prioritization Without Clichés

To do well in the competitive examinations held in Madhya Pradesh you need to adjust your daily study time to match the particular pattern of the examination you are aiming to take.

The fact that the 1-mark penalty has been introduced in the MPPSC Prelims greatly alters the way candidates approach their cutoff strategy; guessing at all 100 questions is now certain to bring them below the Paper I cutoff. Divide your preliminary study time in an 80:20 ratio by spending 80% of it on Paper 1 General Studies (with a focus on the history, geography and tribal heritage of Madhya Pradesh) and 20% on CSAT problem-solving until you have safely gone above the 40% (General) or 33% (Reserved) qualifying threshold.

In the recruitment process for MP Police Constables, passing the written examination is only half the task; it is now the 100-mark Physical Efficiency Test that determines the final merit rankings. To prepare, spend the afternoon working on reasoning, basic mathematics, and general knowledge of the state, and in the morning carry out physical training consisting of running, the shot put, and the long jump. Those aiming for the Patwari and Group 2 Sub-Group 4 positions should evenly distribute their revision among all eight subjects and take timed 180-minute practice tests in order to get a good sense of pacing. The most reliable method of ensuring your passage of the exams is to carry out consistent practice using verified state examination patterns.
